21 Fun Ways to Exercise and Feel Great πŸš€

Today’s post is a little different.
To get on the Playful Path we need to have three things in place:
A loving Heart,
A Joyful Mind,
And a Vibrant Body.
This article is all about the last one!

As Darryl Edwards suggests in his Tedx Talk: Working out isn’t working out.

Why is that? Because it’s just another item on our list of things to do! Things we feel guilty about because we should be doing.

The Paradigm Shift is this: what if working out and exercising was actually fun! It would stop being a β€œshould” and just be something you can’t wait to engage it. This is the shift towards a more playful mind, and something I can help you with!

Wouldn’t we be more likely to adopt a healthy movement based lifestyle if it was fun? You bet! So here below are some ideas in no particular order. Try some of them out and not only will you find yourself fitter but happier too!

  1. Free Dance – simply put on 10 minutes of your favourite music and shake your body! Wiggle your hips too – not only will it make you fitter but also sexier! πŸ’ƒ

  2. IMAGINE YOURSELF to be someone else that LOVES TO WORKOUT and go really theatrical. Pretend to be JANE FONDA. Put on some Funky 80’s music or watch this video! Get into the groove.

  3. Learn to Hula Hoop! πŸŒ€

  4. Laugh. πŸ˜†

  5. Rebouncing – bobbing up and down on a mini-trampoline can be energetic or subtle. There are HUGE health benefits on the Circulatory system and Lymphatic system while just bouncing gently up and down without your feet leaving the trampoline. The lymph fluid is throughout the body and relies on movement to circulate. πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ
  6. Learn to juggle – you’ll be amazed how great a workout it is bending down to pick up all those balls you keep dropping!

  7. Animal Moves – Play moving around your house or park on all fours like a panther, elephant or whatever animal tickles your fancy. For extra fun make the sound of the animal too! Rooooooar!!! 🦁

  8. Walk or Run with a big smile on your face! πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

  9. Get out in a park and play with children! πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦

  10. Find someone to train with! So much more fun and motivating working out with a buddy. πŸ‘«

  11. Take the stairs and on each step make up a game. Count, say the alphabet (backwards), sing a song, take two or three at a time.

  12. Insert 2 minute “Freak out” moments in your day. Set your timer and stop what you are doing to have a good shake, jump and wiggle. πŸ€ͺ

  13. Invite a friend to play catch with a ball or frisbee and make an effort to reach out and move to catch. 🏈

  14. Enjoy a Self-Massage. Use your hands, or use a soft tennis ball, to roll out the hard rocks that have formed in your body! Perhaps not generally thought of as exercise but does wonders for your body and leaves you feeling amazing!

  15. Add enthusiasm to anything you do! You will stop feeling tired and TRAIN yourself to live to the max. πŸ’₯

  16. Go swimming! I personally love Acqua Yoga. I don’t think counting lanes is much fun, there are lots of ways to have fun though. Concentrating on the rhythm of your breath could take you into a state of flow. That would be nice. Or go wild swimming! πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ

  17. Skipping. Incredibly good exercise. You’ll get good at it in no time. Try and go for 100 skips, then backwards and then to music.

  18. Try Chair Yoga Works Breaks – take out 10 minutes to have a good stretch. Chair Yoga Works Breaks Video

  19. Play Follow the Leader with your kids (or friends kids). Start copying a kid without them knowing it. Copy movement and also mood. They will soon get into the game and will take you on a lovely adventure that will be enriching for all.

  20. Add a morning or after dinner walk to your routine. Even just a few minutes will help you digest your food better and get your energy flowing.Try and make a game out of it.
