My 40-Day Solo Adventure in India: Key Takeaways πŸŒπŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

Β

I thought I’d share some of my key takeaways with you, so you can start to ponder whether embarking on an adventure is worth all the effort and joy for you! Here’s my list in no particular order.

And as you read through, consider what small changes you can already make in your lifeβ€”I’d love to hear your thoughts. πŸ€”βœ¨

Time for Self-Reflection: I had the opportunity to write, unravelling sticky feelings and breaking through the fear of exploring unfamiliar streets. Taking just 10 minutes to reflect daily made me more compassionate toward myself and helped me step out of my comfort zone πŸ“πŸŒˆ.

Establishing New Habits: In Chennai, I refined my daily yoga practice, creating a safe haven to fully groundπŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ. The enriching experience extended to walking 8-14km daily, something I rarely do at home but was great for my sense of mental wellbeing πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ.

Self-Responsibility: Travelling alone meant making decisions independently 🀝. Communication often relied on non-verbal cues, gestures, and playful interactions 😊. Connecting with others, even those with limited English, was humbling and rewarding 🌍.

Cultural Exploration: Engaging with strangers over delicious local food became a norm 🍜. I discovered that most people welcome connections, combating the feeling of loneliness 😊.

Appreciation for Home Comforts: Being away made me appreciate the simplicity of my home in Italy 🏑. It underscored the importance of cherishing familiar comforts ❀️. When gratitude goes up so does my sense of joy.

Embracing the Unknown: Trusting myself and others, and embracing uncertainty, became integral to personal growth and understanding πŸŒŒπŸ€—.

Meditation and Presence: Temples provided a space for powerful yet quick moments of meditation and presence πŸ•‰οΈπŸŒŸ. Reinforcing the feeling of being alive.

Recommendation for Travel: I highly recommend everyone to embark on a journey, starting with a new place in their town, a few days out of town, with little or no agenda, or venturing out for up to 40 days like I did in India ✈️🌏.

Detox from Digital Devices: I intentionally left my PC behind πŸš«πŸ’», limiting digital engagement to fully immerse myself in the present moment. I did though make a few video reels check out IG

Future Plans: Expect upcoming one-off online events and a four-week training in April πŸ—“οΈπŸ’Ό.
